About the presented product:
Laser glazing was developed from experimental research into combining a computer-controlled laser with ceramic glazes. The glazes give a special reaction to the laser beam, resulting in unique colours and textures. After creating the vase, patterns are applied by machine. Laser glazing blurs the boundary between technology and craftsmanship and makes the versatility of both disciplines visible.
About the designer:
Sanne’s continuous search for new possibilities within the design process produces surprising results, often serving as fragments of an ongoing investigation. This approach, combined with her fascination for colour combinations and the photographic documentation of products, objects and environments, results in a recognisable visual language in which aesthetics and functionality are proportional to each other.
