Jingge Qu
Meet Jingge Qu Jingge Qu is a ceramic designer currently living and working in Arnhem. Originally from Xi’an, a historic city in China, Jingge has been surrounded by the rich ceramic culture since childhood. This background forms the basis for her unique approach and projects. Inspired by ceramic fragments excavated from local soil, Jingge traces the contours of these shards and reveals the historical changes hidden within them. This process captures lost moments from the past and translates them into unique decorative pieces. Her work creates a visual dialogue between “then and now” and offers a special look at the interplay between history and contemporary designs. With her interest in both ceramics from the past and innovative techniques such as 3D ceramic printing, Jingge explores the relationship between ancient ceramic fragments and modern life. The result? Timeless creations with a story.Kaza-Design
Meet Julius Kazazian
Julius Kazazian is the creative mind behind the sofa “Happy Accident,” a design that tells the story of a painter who accidentally knocks over his paint pots, creating a unique work of art. The name was inspired by Bob Ross’ famous quote, “We don’t make mistakes, we have happy accidents.”
Since childhood, Julius has been passionate about creating. What started with tinkering and coloring grew into working with wood and plastics. This playful and colorful energy from his childhood remains a common thread in his designs.
Julius recently completed his studies as a Creative Craftsman at HMC Amsterdam, and soon he plans to continue his creative journey at the Design Academy Eindhoven. With his fresh perspective and talent, he brings stories and playfulness to life in every design.
SUDDEN OBJECT STUDIO
Meet MacAulay Brown
MacAulay Brown is a designer who uniquely merges art and architecture in his innovative projects. With Casting Standards, he breathes new life into forgotten tableware by combining it with popular handles through a technique he calls “repair-through-collage.”
MacAulay’s work revolves around exploring images, objects and spaces that emerge at the intersection of conflicting references and realities. Thanks to his background in both art and architecture, he moves effortlessly between these disciplines, exploring their overlaps and differences.
