During this short talk you will meet Studio Hanna Kooistra, one of the designers with unique products present at Hotspotz – upstairs Next Level (the place where color, eyecatchers and designers come together in an inspiring area.). MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS During the project light on labs, collaboration initiative of Bossche workshops, Hanna expanded her ‘slabs’ family. Together with Glaslab and Cor Unum, a stacking of materials and layers was created. Glass and ceramics have been connected for centuries Not only are similar products made from it, but a glass layer has been used as a glaze on pottery since the third millennium. Hanna researched how to remove glaze and add glass. The result was an iconic vase, designing glass grids that add an extra dimension to the vase and make arranging flowers easy. MORE ABOUT THE DESIGNER As an autonomous designer, Hanna Kooistra, 1995, engages in an endless process of reflecting, copying and , transforming utensils that we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. These objects have an immense influence on how we experience the world, but have often become taken for granted. She developed a serial way of working that for her is all about exploring an infinite flow of potential and finding new interpretations hidden in our everyday lives. By stacking existing images, cutting and stitching, flattening and folding together, interpretations emerge that challenge a familiar image and produce a new aesthetic.
