Heeej loves nature. That’s why you’ll find many products in our collection that have a connection to nature in one way or another. The modern birdhouses are a good example of this.

With bird feeders and birdhouses, we help the birds that are increasingly struggling to find food and nesting materials in our urbanized and intensively farmed country.

HELP THE BIRDS, THE PEOPLE, AND THE OCEAN
Birdhouses are bringing nature closer to humans. But in addition, Ilse also tries to make responsible choices when it comes to materials.

For example, the plastic part of the Cactus birdhouse is made in Thailand from 50% recycled fishing nets and 50% recycled nylon. These fishing nets are collected from local fishermen, who receive compensation for them. The benefits are significant: discarded fishing nets no longer end up in the sea. Additionally, the fishermen receive a small supplement to their income.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TREES
For the ring of the Cactus, wood from the Rubber Tree has been chosen, treated with a matte varnish for increased durability. The use of this wood is very environmentally friendly. The Rubber Tree provides benefits to humans throughout its entire life and even after its death. During its approximately 30-year lifespan, it produces latex. Once the latex yield becomes low, the tree is cut down and the wood is used to make various things. New rubber trees are immediately planted, of course.

FAST-GROWING BAMBOO
The Happy Houses and bamboo series are made from bamboo. It is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on our planet. It can grow up to a meter per day! Bamboo is also known for its hardness.

DESIGN MAKES LIFE MORE BEAUTIFUL
Heeej believes in products that are good for both humans and nature. In this way, we contribute to a sustainable world where humans, animals, and nature can coexist in harmony.
